Hello, friends! Iāve got a little harebrained idea to share with you! The other day, I was out riding my bike, listening to a podcast about Mercury retrograde, when I had a lightbulb moment- When a planet goes retrograde, it isnāt actually moving backward. It just LOOKS that way from our perspective here on Earth. Well, that got my wheels turning. Literally! š“š¼ How often do we think weāre going backward in life? Backsliding, falling behind, losing ground, starting over? What if weāre not going backward at all? What if weāre simply being invited to pause, change our perspective, revisit something, or take a different route? And then I thought⦠What if we made looking back something to look forward to? Which brings me to my latest slightly off-the-beaten-path experiment⦠THE RETROGRADE CLUB!The Art of Looking Back A little Rx for reflection. No doom. No drama. No blaming Mercury! āæ Mercury goes retrograde October 24āNovember 13, and rather than worrying about what might go wrong, I thought it would be fun to play with all the things that could go right when we give ourselves permission to revisit, reconsider, and reimagine. Iām calling us The Retrogrades. A merry little band of curious humans, free thinkers, occasional rebels, and anyone who enjoys looking at life from a different angle. No membership card required. š For the next three weeks, Iāll be popping into your inbox early in the week with a little RE-something invitation. Maybe weāll RE-new, RE-visit, RE-discover, RE-frame, RE-connect, or even RE-write a few of our own rules! Iāll share some playful prompts, little experiments, and a few gifts from my collection of movement, mindfulness, and creative practices. You can play along as much or as little as youād like. No homework, no catching up, no pressure to become a better version of yourself. And hereās the really fun part⦠Weāre going to wrap it all up on Friday the 13th of November with a free, live, online Retro Communi-TEA: The Coming-Out-of-Retrograde Party! š Bring your tea (or beverage of choice), your stories, your curiosity, and perhaps a little retro flair. Costumes? Encouraged! Required? Absolutely not. Come as you are. Or come as you were! Iāll share the party details and an easy RSVP link soon. In the meantime, thereās nothing you need to sign up for. Just watch for your first little RE-invitation next week. I donāt know about you, but Iām ready for a little more lightheartedness, laughter, connection, and curiosity. Life gives us plenty to take seriously. This doesnāt have to be one of those things. And maybe, just maybe, weāll discover that a little reflection is one of the best ways to move forward. Whoās feeling groovy? Love, Aimee P.S. You donāt have to know a thing about astrology to join the fun. This is really about being human, playing with perspective, and remembering that youāre not going backward, and youāre not too late. Possible side effects include spontaneous dancing, rediscovered interests, fresh perspectives, and an unexpected appreciation for Mercury retrograde ;) šŗ |

Hello friends, Something interesting happened during our first LIGHTER gathering this week. We started talking about the words we use to describe the things that weigh us down. Not just the typical- Junk. Junk food. Junk thoughts. Also the hidden meanings in everyday words. And we discovered that although we all get the meaning, not all words resonate the same with everyone. Which got me thinking about how quickly we can turn something thatās meant to help us into another thing we think weāre...
Hello, October. If youāve been here for a while, you know I love the first day of a new month. A blank page. A little threshold. An invitation to notice where we are and decide how weād like to meet whatās next. But Iāve been thinking that our fresh starts donāt always have to begin by adding something. A new goal. A new habit. A new plan. Something else to accomplish. Sometimes a fresh start begins by putting something down. So before you decide what October needs from you, here are a few...
On Tuesday, I helped my parents load up the very last of their belongings from the place they had called home for 40 years. Forty years. A house. A garage. A shop. A small farm. Eighty acres. And all the stuff that accumulates when you have enough space to keep it. But of course, it wasnāt just stuff. It was memories. Decisions. Identities. Relationships. A way of life. Things that had been useful once. Things that hadnāt been useful for years. Things that were easy to release and things that...
