I’ve always thought September feels more like a new year than January. Maybe it’s all those years of school supplies and freshly sharpened pencils. Maybe it’s the changing light, cooler mornings and the first hints that another season is coming. Whatever it is, September carries an invitation to begin again. But this year, I’m not particularly interested in beginning by adding more. More information. More goals. More things to learn, fix or figure out. I’m interested in a different kind of beginning. What if we began by coming back into our bodies? Because there is no shortage of information available to us. We can listen to another podcast, save another post, watch another video, learn another concept. But at some point, what we know has to move from the head into the body. And that curiosity has led me somewhere new. Introducing KINesthetic Mystic. A new series on my She Force YouTube channel that isn’t really meant to be watched. It’s meant to be experienced. To move. To breathe. To notice. To feel sensation. To explore an idea through your own body rather than only thinking about it. For a long time, much of spirituality seemed oriented toward going up, transcending the body, rising above the human experience, ascending toward something greater. Lately, I find myself increasingly curious about the opposite direction. What if we’re here to become more fully embodied? What if the body isn’t something our soul came here to overcome, but something it came here to experience? What if movement can be a form of inquiry? What if sensation has something to tell us? And what if we could give our busy minds a few minutes off and let the body join the conversation? That’s what we’ll explore together in KINesthetic Mystic. I’m beginning with the four elements- Earth, Air, Fire and Water-because they give us four beautifully different invitations for movement and exploration. There is nothing to memorize. Nothing to perform. No choreography. In fact, I don’t want you copying my body, like follow the leader. I want you becoming curious about yours. Maybe that’s the kind of fresh start I’m interested in this September. Not becoming someone new. Coming back into relationship with the person who’s already here. Come move with me. Here is the intro video- or tune in to one of the element videos on the channel- fire, earth, air, water. Short and sweet movement invitations, no equipment or experience needed! ENJOY! |

Hello friends, Something interesting happened during our first LIGHTER gathering this week. We started talking about the words we use to describe the things that weigh us down. Not just the typical- Junk. Junk food. Junk thoughts. Also the hidden meanings in everyday words. And we discovered that although we all get the meaning, not all words resonate the same with everyone. Which got me thinking about how quickly we can turn something that’s meant to help us into another thing we think we’re...
Hello, October. If you’ve been here for a while, you know I love the first day of a new month. A blank page. A little threshold. An invitation to notice where we are and decide how we’d like to meet what’s next. But I’ve been thinking that our fresh starts don’t always have to begin by adding something. A new goal. A new habit. A new plan. Something else to accomplish. Sometimes a fresh start begins by putting something down. So before you decide what October needs from you, here are a few...
On Tuesday, I helped my parents load up the very last of their belongings from the place they had called home for 40 years. Forty years. A house. A garage. A shop. A small farm. Eighty acres. And all the stuff that accumulates when you have enough space to keep it. But of course, it wasn’t just stuff. It was memories. Decisions. Identities. Relationships. A way of life. Things that had been useful once. Things that hadn’t been useful for years. Things that were easy to release and things that...
